Rodger Phillips

Rodger and his wife Isabelle are farmers and educators who lease 300 acres at Fisher Farm where they operate their diversified family farm Sub Edge. Rodger has over 15 years experience in organic farming and gardening and has offered numerous workshops and talks on topics related to food and farming. For five years Rodger worked for the Hartford Food System on programs that addressed issues of food security in low income Hartford neighborhoods. He served as a core organizer for the New Connecticut Farmer Alliance and on the farm committee at the Community Farm of Simsbury.

Mark Nolan

Mark is best known in Avon as the beloved principal of Pine Grove Elementary School for 17 years. Mark retired in 2007 and has since served as an Executive Coach for the CT Association of Schools and the CT State Department of Education. He has given back to the community in many ways including chairing the Avon Free Public Library Capital Campaign raising funds for the renovation and addition to this community asset. Mark also served as the interim Executive Director for the Community Farm of Simsbury

Sarah Bouckoms

Sarah is a Farmington resident of 25 years. She lives close to Fisher meadows and has used the trails for running including the races as a member of the Farmington High Cross Country team. Trail running has always been a passion and way of enjoying the nature of the Farmington River and surrounding wildlife. Now Sarah is a teacher at Miss Porters School. As well as teaching the Conceptual Physics courses, she created a Climate Change elective. Sub Edge Farm has been instrumental in connecting her students with environmental awareness issues around farming. She has led field trips to the farm and hosted the Green Schools Alliance conference with the farmers from Sub Edge as speakers. She is very happy to give back to help make the community stronger and centered around the farm.

Paul Meehan

Paul is a life long resident of Farmington, local real estate developer and builder. He and his wife, Amy, have two boys - Tuck (14), and Jack (11).  Paul's family is interested innatural foods & living and they are avid hunters & gatherers, tend their own gardens, harvest clams, lobster & fish during the summer. Paul also serves on the board of directors of Winding Trails, Inc.
